Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Village Naturals Aromatherapy Relax Vanilla & Cinnamon Body Butter, $8

Brrrr! I'm sitting at the computer with a winter coat and fuzzy boots on as I'm typing this post. It's COLD! Turkey Day is tomorrow and the Indian Summer that we had in L.A. last month is looong gone. :(  I get cranky when the weather changes because I usually get sick. I always complain and mutter something about how "island people" aren't meant for the cold, but the real reason I hate cold weather so much is because it's so DRY.

Cold air makes my skin really dry, rough, and scaly if I don't moisturize like a maniac. My hands get cracked from washing them all the time and, if I don't have hand cream or lotion with me at all times, they dry out so bad that I get eczema. Plus, one thing I definitely don't want is Tales from the Crypt hands when I'm older from not moisturizing enough now, so I keep this hand cream at every sink in my house so I'll remember to put it on right after washing my hands:

Asper & Jones White Cranberry & Fig Hand and Nail Cream, $4 at T.J. Maxx

This hand cream smells so good and is light enough to absorb quickly but thick enough to hydrate my skin well. It's being sold on Amazon for $24, but I found it at T.J. Maxx for $4. I highly recommend trying this if you can find it at a good price!

Now that you got your hands covered, your body needs some TLC, too. My favorite Fall/Winter cream is Village Naturals Aromatherapy Relax Vanilla & Cinnamon Body Butter (pictured at the top of this post). It's only $8 on Amazon or Target and it is hands down the BEST body cream for cold weather. It's so rich and moisturizing, with a creamy, buttery texture and a nice, light, relaxing scent. It's the best body butter I've ever tried and you'd never think it was under $10. Your skin will feel as soft and supple as a baby's butt when you use this stuff! It feels a bit greasy at first but my skin absorbs it after about 10 minutes.

If you don't like heavy lotions, try my other staple lotion for Fall- Bath & Body Works The Perfect Autumn Leaves Body Lotion. It's a little hard to find because it's a discontinued BBW item, but it's soooo worth it. It smells just like Autumn and cinnamon apple cider. It's therapeutic for me because I get happy every time I smell it.

Do you have a  go-to body lotion or cream that you use every Fall or Winter?
